Talecris Biotherapeutics announced the recipients of the 2007 European Alpha-1-Antitrypsin
Laurell's Training Awards (eALTA) at the Talecris Symposium entitled "Alpha-1-Antitrypsin
Deficiency – Inflammation, Exacerbation, and Innovation".The recipients, Karin F. Kok from Nijmegen, the Netherlands, and Tomás Patrick Carroll (on the picture represented by Dr. Emer P. Reeves) from Dublin, Ireland, were honored during the 2007 European Respiratory Society's (ERS) Annual Congress in Stockholm, Sweden. The award was presented by Dr. Marion Wencker, Head of Medical and Clinical Affairs, Talecris Biotherapeutics GmbH, Frankfurt, and Dr. Alberto Martinez, President and COO of Talecris Biotherapeutics Inc.
The eALTA fellowships will support their one year research project that will provide additional insights into improving the diagnosis, care and treatment of Alpha-1-Antitrypsin Deficiency.
